Feeding 4 to 5 people, I brown one pound of meat(ground beef, ground chicken, ground turkey, stew meat or venison...basically whatever meat I have when I make it ). Then I saute one whole onions and one bell pepper add the cooked meat back in and then I add 2 cans light red kidney beans, 1 can dark red kidney beans(add the liquid from the cans, do not drain) and 1 can of diced tomatoes (or a couple chopped fresh tomatoes) add salt, pepper, chilli powder and cumin seasoning to taste) bring all to a boil then reduce heat to simmer and cover cooking for about an hour on low. This makes a nice thick chilli, if you like more soupy add a large can of tomato juice.
