Economical cookie that’s great for any celebration. Sugar cookies. This recipe has been reliable for me. I Use leftover frosting from cakes if I need to use some up. Most of the time I just make glaze from powdered sugar and water. Add water slowly as it becomes liquid quickly. For these cookies we used a heaping cup of powdered sugar and about 2 to 2 1/2 tablespoons of water and 1/2 tsp flavoring. I flavor with vanilla and almond just like the cookie but you can use any flavor you like. Grandkids love to dye the icing! And kids always need sprinkles. Lol with Easter coming up I like to make thin glaze dyed all colors and give kids watercolor paint brushes to paint their cookies.

@ltdan6052 it says you can roll it but I have never had success with that. I just drop these or scoop. Good cookie just not good for cut outs.

They come out like this. If you want them flat you may need to flatten before baking. (These have buttercream frosting.)

I’ve used this “Mary’s Sugar Cookie” recipe for the Mommy and Me cookie decorating classes I ran as Director of my BOE Community School for 19 years. They were always a hit with my families and taste scrumptious! These look stunning!
