I love Pinterest, you can find almost anything on there. I love making chili Mac with elbow macaroni, stroganoff over egg noodles, penne and spaghetti as simple pasta with Italian sausage and spaghetti sauce. I also love Ree Drummond’s recipe for chicken spaghetti with spaghetti noodles
Growing up my mom used to make butter garlic noodles which was budget friendly and she did something she called poor man's stew where she boiled the noodles and put milk and butter with salt a pepper (sounds strange, but that was one of the things we frequently asked for)
Sopa
Any type of pasta or rice if I’m using spaghetti I break it up in smaller pieces
1 lb hamburger or diced chicken breasts
1 can tomato sauce
1/4 onion
Brown and drain meat add salt & pepper to meat
In a separate skillet with enough oil
to coat bottom, brown your pasta or rice, once lightly browned add onion (I cut in lg pieces so onion haters can remove) add tomato sauce and 2 cups of water. While you wait for the liquid to boil add the hamburger or chicken and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder , & cumin.( I add chili powder & paprika for a boost)
When liquid starts to boil, cover, reduce heat and let simmer for
10-12 minutes (15 minutes for rice) serve with beans & tortillas
