Trying an experiment at the beginning of the year….
We are going to try one new recipe a week.
So give me some of your favorite go to meals.
No spaghetti, no tacos, something new and out there (example: captain crunch chicken or Dorito chicken)

I know you said no tacos but these are different you can use for enchiladas, bowls, salads etc . It’s the one recipe my parents always asks me to make. Definitely worth keeping on hand 🥰 once you have all the spices it’s cheap to remake as you just need to get limes and oranges 🙂 carnitas is pork but this is made with chicken and it’s delicious

I love doing thos it makes me feel like I'm getting out of the cooking rut of cooking the same thing
During the summer we will try 1 new veggie a week

Halushka. Chop up a pack of bacon in about 1.5” pieces. Do the same with a cabbage. Cook the bacon in a large pot, less than crispy (still soft). Add the cabbage and cook till soft. Add a pack of boiled egg noodles. Stir and serve.

@twicehis my husband taught me this when we first got married over 40 years ago. His family is Hungarian. It’s been on our regular rotation ever since. You can add onions and garlic, but I haven’t.

Mississippi meatballs. I use insta pot, but crockpot also
Frozen meatballs
1 cup broth
1 ranch packet
1 packet aujus
1/4 cup pepperoncini juice
A few peppers
High 8 mins. Serve over mashed potatoes

@pho3nix you take captain crunch and corn flakes, crush into bread crumbs and either fry, bake or air fry. Dip in honey mustard.
These never lasted, I would have to lock everyone out of the kitchen when frying because they would come eat them as soon as I pulled them out of the grease

Curry with rice. Use Golden Curry mix. It comes in a box. Be sure to get the mild version unless you want very hot. You can add any meat you like. Chicken is good. Pork is good. Shrimp is good, too. Use whatever veggies you like. I use onions, carrots and peas usually. Japanese style curry has a little apple in it which is good, too. I grate the apple or use applesauce.
