Seeking the Ultimate Mashed Potatoes Recipe for Thanksgiving – Share Your Best!

Pink Salad
24 oz Cottage Cheese
2 ea. Large containers of Cool whip
2 cans of pineapple (do not drain)
2 cans Mandarin Oranges (Drained)
1 large can of fruit cocktail (Drained)
1 ea. large box of jello, dry (Cherry, strawberry or raspberry)
1 cup walnuts
1 cup coconuts
2 bags mini marshmallows
Directions:
Mix all cans of fruit together, Add dry jello and cottage cheese. Mix well, then add cool whip and nuts. Mix thoroughly. Chill.
 
Peel and cube 5 pounds of potatoes . Boil until soft. Add a stick of butter, cream cheese 1 brick and 3/4 cup scolded milk. Mash and put in a buttered casserole dish. This a recipe for the day before mashed potatoes. Bake at 350 covered with foil for 30 minutes. 15 minutes with foil off. Absolutely delicious and never any leftover
 
Cook, drain, put butter in, mash with potato masher…mix with hand mixer..add salt, pepper and milk ( or cream ) Mix with hand mixer…till consistency that u like.
 
If your not making for a lot of people you can half this recipe but everyone knows me for the best mashed potatoes.
5 lbs Russet potatoes peeled and cubed
Cover in pot with cold water to 1 inch above and add 3 Tbs salt. Boil till fork tender. Do not over cook. They will carryover cook. Drain and put pot back on burner that is turned off and add 2 sticks of butter. Cover with drained potatoes & mash well but not too hard that it gets gummy. Season with salt pepper and 1/8tsp white pepper. Start out with 1 qt of heavy cream slowly, may not need it all so start out with a pint of it and stir and add till you get the right consistency. Adjust seasoning, they take a good amount of salt. Enjoy.
