Looking for a good bread recipe I don't want to kill the yeast so please any tips and recipes please feel free to give me this will be my first attempt on making homemade bread.

This recipe halves really well too! I let my yeast sit for 10 minutes instead of 5, and let it rise in the oven with the light on. I take it out and knead it instead of just stirring it in the bowl because I feel that it's better that way (you may need to use more flour when kneading, I've used up to 1/4c and it's come out fine) I've done a variety of shapes that have all come out well and have even added things like garlic powder & Italian for garlic bread let me know if you have any questions!
Also, you have to unfortunately wait for it to cool down before cutting it open, i learned the hard way that it continues to bake even after you take it out and if you do cut it too early it becomes gummy
We've only done it in the bread machine but it does better if you use unsalted butter and put the salt in the corners and the yeast in the middle cause if the salt touches the yeast directly then it deactivates it
