This is how my great grand mother used to make Potato Soup and I've never made it any other way. It's so good and hardy. I like to dip buttered bread in it. I thought it needed to be shared on here for those who have lots of potatoes to use up or want a warm hug of a soup on a cold day.

We were poor, we used hotdogs. Bacon is something we rarely ate and I never thought of putting it in potato soup. Sounds great, I'll give it a try!!!!

Great recipe, very similar to mine. I sauté the onions in the bacon grease and add a cup of sharp cheddar to my soup. Delicious, thanks for sharing!

My potato soup has Green onions, regular onion, leeks, celery, shredded carrots Cheese potatoes and all of the above.

That pretty much how I make mine only I have never added sage. I will give it a try next time I make it. Thanks!
