Black beans and rice: cook 1 cup of white rice and add one can of black beans (do not drain), a dollop of salsa, and a pat of butter to taste. Simmer down to desired thickness and serve as a hearty side to almost any meat.
Serve this over rice.
3-4lbs Pork ( loin, shoulder, ribs, thick chops)
¾ cup soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup ketchup
1- 20oz can crushed Pineapple in juice
2 TBLS minced garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker on high for 3-5 hours or low 4-6hours depending on meat cut choice.
Serve over steamed rice and mixed vegetables
Arroz con leche is a rice dessert. Boil rice with cinnamon. Vanilla, condensed milk then add 4 cups of milk and let it boil for 20 minutes stir it so it don't stick
Very simple recipe that my father in law made with egg noodles, fried bacon, cottage cheese and feta cheese crumbles.
Boil egg noodles and drain.
I cube the bacon and fry and drain and paper towels. I use almost 2 pounds.
Combine cottage cheese and feta cheese crumbles. 24 oz. Cottage cheese and 8 oz. Feta cheese
Place alternating layers of egg noodles and cheese mixture in a casserole dish ending with egg noodles. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
Serve with a salad and your favorite vegetables.
If you do not like cottage cheese you can use ricotta cheese.
Ground meat cream of mushroom, French onion (one can each per lb of meat) a bit of cream or sour cream, veggies. Put it over rice. It makes a stroganoff esque dish that is Amazing. If chose spice and season to taste I add soy and the washursuster (I know it's spelled wrong guys I think it's funny) as well as garlic and Adobo is so good and easy
Rice Oriental
2 lbs ground beef 80/20 lean
2 bag of SUCCESS boil-in-a-bag rice, cooked (or 2 cups of cooked rice) (Jasmine recommended)
4 TBLS soy sauce
1 TBLS garlic powder
¾ TBLS onion powder
1-2.2oz packet of beefy onion soup mix
1 cup beef broth
½ stick butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Brown and drain ground beef
Add all other ingredients and mix throughly included cooked rice
Bring to simmer and cover for 10-12 minutes.
