Someone give me a recipe (simple) for broccoli rice & cheese please! I’m in charge of making that for thanksgiving
😬
thank you!

I’d keep the chicken out just in case there are any vegetarians. I found a recipe on Pinterest let me if I can find it

@tevans9129 doing that for my d-i-law...I'm putting chicken in a plate to be added for the rest of us. I use Cheddar Cheese soup in the potato casserole for her too. No one knows any difference.

Preheat oven to 350. Mix the soup, broth, rice and broccoli. Bury the tenderloins and bake until the chicken is almost done. Top with the cheese and finish baking. We also top it with French fried onions. You could probably omit the chicken if you wanted.

Minute rice I prefer brown, cook per directions, cook broccoli ( I use steamables), add broccoli to rice and mix in liquid Velveeta = quick, easy, cheap, and most important yummy, and is vegetarian friendly

Chicken Broccoli Rice Casserole
Mix in bottom of crockpot
1 jar cheese wiz
1 can cream of mushroom
1 can chicken stock
1/2 can of water
1/8 cup sour cream
Mix until combined well
Add
1/4 cup of diced onion
2 bags frozen broccoli
3.5 diced chicken breast (I used precooked)
2 cups of minute rice
Stir all together
Cook on high for 3.5 hours
Stir every hour

So super simple would be a can of cream of chicken soup and a can of cream of mushroom. Combine with some milk or stock/broth to thin it out slightly. Add some salt/pepper, if you have garlic powder, onion powder add that as well.
Grab a bag of frozen broccoli (I would thaw the bag and drain out as much liquid as you can)
Minute rice (uncooked) or maybe a box of a seasoned rice like Uncle Ben's brand or whatever
Velveeta cheese is good for melting.
Add broccoli, rice, the soup mix and cubed up Velveeta to a casserole dish. I'd cover it and bake it at 350 for 30 minutes - check to see if the rice is cooked through and then maybe layer the top with some shredded cheese and bake uncovered until melted.
I personally would use fresh broccoli but my mom makes a broccoli casserole that we all love and uses frozen. It's just, you know, slightly mushy lol.
Extra - crumble up Ritz crackers to spread on top during the final bake.

1 Jar cheez whiz
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 stick butter
Onion powder
1 cup cooked rice
1 package chopped broccoli
Cook rice
Cook broccoli
Mix all together and pour in casserole dish
Bake at 375 unto starts browning on top

BROCCOLI CHEDDAR SOUP
* Melt the 1/4 cup butter and sautee the onions on the stove-top until soft. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture. Cook and stir over medium heat for 1-2 minutes.
* Whisk in the half & half and chicken broth. You can also use heavy cream.
* Add the broccoli florets and carrots. Cook over medium-low heat for 20-25 minutes or until the broccoli and carrots are tender.
* Add salt and pepper. You can have the soup chunky or smoother. Blend about 1 cup of the soup with an immersion blender and stir it in for a smoother soup. Return to low heat and add the cheese. If your heat is too high your soup can get grainy. Stir in the nutmeg if desired.
* Serve with crusty bread.

One can of cream of chicken soup, empty into microwave bowl. Fill the can with milk and place in bowl, mix. Add pepper to taste. Fill can with instant rice and add to mixture. Mix. Add Valveta brick cheese , cubed and microwave until cheese melts. Mix.
Add bag of frozen broccoli continue to zap 10 min and mix between each time for about 30 minutes. So yummy. In summer I add chicken pieces for whole meal.

2 cans cream of mushroom soup
2 sticks butter
1 jar (15 oz jar Cheez Whiz)
2 cups of Minute (instant) Rice (uncooked!)
1 bag thawed broccoli chopped
I use all Aldi’s ingredients FYI
Melt, soup, butter and cheese, mix in chopped broccoli (I chop my broccoli up a little more) and rice in a saucepan. Pour in 9x13 baking dish or foil pan, bake at 350 for an hour.
*I usually make 2 pans for my family, just double the recipe and divide it.
Entree idea I use:
**I add pre-cooked rotisserie, chopped, chunked or drained and broken up canned chicken and mix in sometimes and serve with a side salad and crescent rolls (Aldi’s too).
