Looking for Budget-Friendly Crockpot Recipes

I forgot.one of my favorites
Depending on the family size lets say 4
2-3 pounds of fresh green beans
Clean and string your green beans. I leave thrm whole some ppl with snap in half. Theres you tube videos on stinging them.
1 large sliced or diced onion
Choose one of these diced ham, a couple nice size smoked ham hocks ( you get lots of really good flavor from hocks) , or sliced polish sausage. 98% of the time choose hocks or ham.
Black pepper.
Red potatoes cubed in1/4s
Place all on pot, then add chicken broth. The amount depends on the amount it takes to generously cover your beans. I usally use the big container of stock or 2 of the regualar size.
You can add a little of the ham base loke you can get for soup starter if you wish. This is not a must and it will be fantastic with or without.
Cook until beans a tender. Now if you use hocks and want it to be done quicker ( because they take longer to break down) the. You can boil them or I put them in the instant pot for 20 min to 30 min to get them tender quickly if I am wanting to rush it. Then just remove the bone and put the meat in the crock. This whole meal can go in the instant pot too for about 45 min to hour.
Usally it takes all day for tyecooking time.

Ham and beans
1 cup diced onions or 1 large onion
2 stalks celery thinly, sliced
1 cup diced carrots
2 garlic cloves minced
2 cups dried white northern beans ,add if you like Pinto, navy, kidney
4 cups water , chicken broth or my favorite, v8 juice. Or both 2 broth and a whole jug of v8 [my preference]
1 ham bone or smoked ham hock or 1/2 to 1 whole diced up ham steak.
6 ounces tomato sauce
1 can of diced tomatoes the big can
1 -2 bay leaf
1-3 sprig of fresh thyme
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Cook all day until beans are tender
Serve with corn bread
 
Crockpot Italian Chicken 4 chicken breasts
1 packet Zesty Italian dressing seasoning
8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
2 cans cream of chicken soup
2 tablespoons of garlic powder
1 package of pasta
How to make it :
Add all the ingredients except the pasta into the crockpot. Cook on low for 4 hours. If sauce is too thick, add a little milk.
When you are ready to serve the chicken, cook pasta according to package. Drain pasta.
Add pasta to the chicken sauce in the crockpot and toss together.
 
Stuffed Pepper Soup Is a Full Meal in a Bowl, Don't Lose this Recipe ❤️
Ingredients
1 pound ground sirloin
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 cup finely diced onion
1 (29 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon dried sage
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup white rice
Directions
In a large stock pot brown ground meat. Drain fat and add pepper and onion. Cook until onion is translucent, not letting them brown.
Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, thyme, sage and season with salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes, until peppers are tender.
In another saucepan boil 2 cups water, and add rice. Cook until rice is tender and then add to soup. Heat soup through and serve.
 
Crockpot ziti !
▪️1 pound of ziti noodles
▪️2 jars of 24 ounce pasta sauce of your choice
▪️15 ounce Ricotta cheese / or cottage cheese
▪️Mozzarella cheese
▪️2 eggs
▪️Choice of seasonings (I used Italian , oregano , basil )
Mix seasonings , eggs , and ricotta
Grease your crockpot
First put layer of sauce
Then layer noodles (try to divide your noodles in thirds for layers )
On top of noodles layer ricotta cheese and mozzarella
Repeat until done
***NOODLES COOK IN SAUCE , DO NOT COOK BEFORE !👀
Put on high for 2 hours and 15 minutes after sprinkle with cheese and let melt
(I let my go for another 15 minutes )
 
Hearty Crockpot Cowboy Soup
Cook Time 2 hours 30 minutes
Total Time 2 hours 45 minutes
Ingredients
2 Lbs Ground beef
4 Yukon Gold Potatoes
2 Cans Mixed vegetables Undrained
1 Can Sweet corn Undrained
1 Can Condensed tomato soup
1 Can diced tomatoes
1 Can Cut green beans Undrained
Pinch Salt
Dash Pepper
2 Tablespoons Sugar
Instructions
1. Peel potatoes and cut into small cubes.
2. Brown and drain ground beef
3. Place beef and potatoes in large slow cooker.
4. Add all cans of vegetables, can of tomato soup, and diced tomatoes.
5. Salt and pepper to taste.
6. Finally, add the secret ingredient that sets this apart from your average soup- sugar (thanks to my grandma Hazel)!!
Mix together well and cook on low for 2-3 hours in slow cooker.
Recipe Notes
Of course you can substitute fresh or frozen veggies, but would need to add a can or two of beef stock to this. No need to add this if using canned veggies, as you will be adding the cans undrained-which provides both liquid and flavor. Yum
 
Cabbage Roll Soup
2 teaspoons olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
1 pound ground beef I use 90% lean or ground turkey not low fat
1 onion finely diced
2 teaspoons minced garlic
4 cups coarsely chopped green cabbage
2 carrots peeled, quartered and sliced
4 cups beef broth
3 8 ounce cans tomato sauce
1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
1 bay leaf
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons parsley
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium high heat. Add the ground beef and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cook, breaking up the meat with a spatula, until beef is browned, approximately 4-5 minutes. Add the onion and garlic cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add the cabbage, carrots, beef broth, tomato sauce, rice, bay leaf and brown sugar to the pot. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Bring to a simmer and cook for 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Remove bay leaf and discard.
Sprinkle with parsley and serve
 
Slow Cooked Chicken and Gravy
Ingredients
6 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
10 ¾ ounce can of reduced fat Cream of Chicken soup mix
2 packages of chicken gravy mix
2 cups of water
Salt and pepper to taste
1 ½ tsp garlic powder
1 ¼ tsp onion powder
Instructions
FIRST STEP:
In the slow cooker, combine the cream of chicken soup, the two packs of gravy mix and 2 cups of water
Whisk to blend well
SECOND STEP:
Sprinkle in the onion powder and the garlic powder, stir again
Place the chicken breasts on top of the soup mixture
THIRD STEP:
Cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4 hours.
Tastes best when served over mashed potatoes, rice or pasta.
FOURTH STEP:
If desired, place a choice of fresh or frozen vegetables in during the last hour of cooking.
If using fresh vegetables, continue to check on the doneness of the vegetable. You do not want to end with soggy vegetables.

Roast beef with au jus
3lbs beef round roast
1 container unsalted beef broth
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 envelope au jus
Hoagies
Butter
Swiss cheese (or provolone)
Put meat in the crockpot, add seasoning and beef broth.
Cook on low for 8 hours
Shred the meat, butter a hoagie and toast it, put meat on it and Swiss cheese, broil in the oven to melt the cheese real quick, dip in the juice left in the crockpot.
 
Kaluha pork
Kalua Pork (Instant Pot & Slow Cooker).

Ingredients
3½ - 4 lbs bone-in boston butt pork
1 tbsp himalayan or hawaiian salt
1 tbsp liquid smoke
Instructions
Clean and pat the boston butt dry with paper towel.
Rub salt all over the pork.
Pour the liquid smoke over the pork and massage/rub it into the meat.
Instant Pot - pressure cook on high for 2 hrs with a natural release (approx. 45-55 min). Note: test the meat for tenderness by stabing center with a fork. If the fork does not easily pierce through the meat, place lid back on and pressure cook for an additional 15 mins with a natural release.
Slow Cooker - cook on low for 12-14 hrs or until the meat is tender. This recipe is low and slow to yield a very tender spreadable meat.
Remove the pork and place on a serving tray or in a bowl. Using tongs or 2 forks shred the meat. Optional: season with salt.
Serve with fresh pineapple and rice.

BBQ Pulled Pork with Gravy
Level: Easy 4 to 6 servings

Ingredients
3 pounds boneless pork shoulder, cut into large chunks
3 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 cup apple juice
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Chopped fresh parsley, for serving
Dinner rolls, for serving
Directions
Add the pork, salt, pepper, garlic powder, cumin and paprika to a 6-quart slow cooker. Toss to combine, then pour in the apple juice. Cover with the lid and let cook for 8 hrs on low, or until the pork is easily shreddable.
Remove the pork from the juices to a serving dish and shred with forks or fingers.
Add the butter to a small skillet over medium heat and let melt. Whisk in the flour until combined, about 1 minute. Add 1 cup drippings from the slow cooker and whisk until thickened. Taste for seasoning. Drizzle over the pork or transfer to a serving dish. Serve the pork warm with warm gravy and a sprinkle of chopped parsley. Eat with the dinner rolls.

Dr. Pepper Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Dr. Pepper Slow Cooker Pulled Pork is the perfect way to serve a crowd. It’s easy, tender, delicious and everyone always loves it!
Ingredients
1 pork butt/pork shoulder roast 4-5 pounds
salt pepper & garlic powder
1 onion sliced optional
1 can Dr. Pepper
¾ cup barbecue sauce or to taste
Rolls & coleslaw for serving
Instructions
Place the onion in the bottom of the slow cooker. Rub the outside of the roast with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Pour the Dr. Pepper over the pork and cook on high 4-5 hrs or on low 7-8 hrs.
The meat will be very tender. Using 2 forks, shred the pork and place back in the juices.
Add barbecue sauce to taste. Allow to cook an additional 30-60 mins if desired.
Serve on crusty rolls with cole slaw. ________________________________

Ingredients
1 3-4 pound boneless roast beef (chuck or round roast) chuck or round roast
1 cup beef stock or broth
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tablespoon garlic, pepper, salt mixed together to make seasoning
Instructions
Place roast beef into the insert of your slow cooker. Add beef broth to slow cooker. Pour Worcestershire sauce over the top of roast and sprinkle with Seasoning.
Cook roast in slow cooker for 4 hrs on High setting or 6-8 hrs on Low.
Once roast beef has cooked, remove from slow cooker with tongs into a serving dish. Break apart lightly with two forks and then add back to the gravy in the slow cooker set on warm for another hour.
Store shredded beef and gravy in an airtight container in the refrigerator for later use.

chicken dumplings in crock pot
Ingredients
1/2 chopped onion
4/5 chicken breasts
1 can cream of chicken
1 can crean of celery
1 tbsp parsley
1tsp poultry seasoning
2 c chicken broth
Bag of frozen pea/carrots mix
1 can buttermilk biscuits
S & p to taste
Place chopped onion in crockpot
Put chicken breasts directly on top..
In a separate bowl combine both cans of soup, parsley and poultry seasoning. Spread mixture over chicken...
Pour 2 c chicken broth over mix..
Cook in cp on high 4 to 4 1/2 hours...
Then shred chicken..
Add frozen veggies(Approx half bag)...
Cut biscuits into 4ths and throw on top..
Cook for another hour to an hour and a half...

Orange chicken
1 1/4 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into 1 inch chunks
1/4 cup cornstarch
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup orange marmalade ( I USE SUGAR FREE and it turns out great.
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
cooking spray
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
2 tablespoons sliced green onions
*I also cut up a large onion , green pepper, and 1 can pineapple chunks add a 1 T minced garlic and saute that and pour over top when done.
Place the chicken pieces in a bowl. Add the cornstarch and salt and pepper. Toss to coat the chicken in the cornstarch mixture.
Heat the oil in a large pan over medium high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. You may need to work in batches.
Coat a slow cooker with cooking spray and add the chicken to the slow cooker.
In a small bowl, whisk together the orange marmalade, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil and garlic.
Pour the sauce over the chicken and gently stir to coat.
Cook on LOW for 2 hours.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions, then serve.
Great to pair with rice and brocolli. For kiddos the chicken is fantastic right after frying.
Can exchange of course low sodium. I use sugar free marmalade.
 
Crock Pot Bowtie Casserole
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (15 o) can stewed tomatoes
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
salt/pepper
10 oz. frozen spinach, thawed (can also use fresh spinach)
16 oz. bowtie pasta, cooked
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
1 1/2 cup mozzarella, shredded
Directions
Brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Put in crock-pot and add sauce, tomatoes and seasonings. Cook for 6-7 hours on low. Add the last 4 ingredients during the last 30 minutes of cooking and turn crock-pot to high. Add fresh spinach, pasta, parmesan and 1 cup of the mozzarella and mix well. Add the last 1/2 cup of mozzarella to melt on the top.
 
Carnitas
5 pounds pork
Wet rub:
▪︎Tomato paste
About 2 teaspoons-ish
▪︎Cumin, chili powder, salt
About 1 tablespoon-ish
▪︎Onion, garlic powder
▪︎smoked paprika
▪︎Olive oil about ¼ cup
▪︎soy sauce couple tablespoons
Mix wet rub together and rub all over pork. Put in crockpot.
Mix together:
-¼cup oj
-liquid smoke
-lime juice
Pour liquid in crock.
Add:
•Bay leaves
•onion diced
•Jalapeno diced
Cook:
Low 6-8 hours or until done.
Shred, bake 400° til a little crispy, place back in juices, stir and serve.
 
Slow cooker Pork:
1 can of cranberry sauce (diced )
1 can of mandarin oranges (including the juice)
6 oz can of pineapple juice
Pork: roast, steaks, loin, 4 - 6 boneless chops
1/3 cup of brown sugar
Place cranberry sauce and a can of mandarin oranges in bottom of slow cooker. Place pork on top. Add pineapple juice. Sprinkle brown sugar over meat. Cook on low 6 - 8 hours.
Serve over rice.
