Need Budget-Friendly Meal Ideas: Tired of Chuck Steaks & Pasta - Looking for Cheap, Nutritious Recipes!

Country style ribs are fairly cheap right now. I boil mine until they are no longer pink. Then I take bbq sauce and coat the bottom of the pan; place the ribs on top of sauce and coat with more sauce. Cover pan and bake at 350
degrees for 30 to 45 minutes. Serve with your favorite style of potatoes or beans and corn on the cob.

I get Turkey kielbasa, a head of cabbage, roasted tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, squash sometimes corn and potatoes dice everything up and add in beef broth and tomato juice. Lots of garlic, salt, pepper, onion powder and paprika. Sauté your kielbasa and then throw everything together in a big pot and let it simmer together. Serve over rice or egg noodles. It will last forever and is healthier for you.

A favorite of mine during college was to fry some potatoes from Walmart (I’d get potatoes O’Brien bc I like potatoes and peppers), fry them in oil or butter and add smoked sausage to it. I always loved it and could eat on it for a few days

Another easy favorite of mine is to add some chicken breasts, a can of rotel, and chicken taco seasoning to a crockpot. Let it simmer all day, then make rice to serve it over. Super easy, reasonably good for you and tasty

Can you tag along with someone who has a Costco card? The 4.99 rotisserie chicken gives you do much bang for your buck. Take all the meat off of the breast and thighs and use for soup or anything. Simmer the bones on low all day or in a crockpot. Add leftover onion skin or meat bits or veggie bits (I keep a baggie in the freezer to store these as they come along) After cooking strain everything out and you will be left with super healthy bone broth to use for soup. Also join Buy Nothing type groups for your area. People give away food all the time in mine. Hit up local food pantries and churches because food is thrown away all the time. The back of the grocery store will have mark-downs. You can find oatmeal, spices, lots of things that have just had a package change or maybe the box is dented. Higher end stores will have loss leaders. That means they will sell some things at cost because if you buy 99 cent cereal (Sprouts last week) you are likely to buy their over priced milk. I used to store hop and buy only sale items from several grocery stores.

Is the lack of appetite affecting you with unplanned weight loss? Is there an economic change in your household that has triggered depression? A true loss of appetite that produces unplanned weight loss is a condition for concern, and potentially medical assessment.
