Need Budget-Friendly Meal Ideas: Tired of Chuck Steaks & Pasta - Looking for Cheap, Nutritious Recipes!

One of my go to cheap meals are a box of Mac and cheese(I do the one with cheese sauce so I don't have to buy milk or butter), can of glory green beans, and smoked sausage I cut in 1/2 inch slices and fry. Carbs, veggie and protein. Cost me about 10-13 bucks to feed 5 people but I'm buying 2 of everything I said. For 2-3 people would be like 7 bucks

I like to find my recipes from Pinterest and the app called intent (with 3 blue dots).
Also maybe have a small side salad with all your dinners. You’d be surprised all the different things you can buy for salads these days lol.
I love using frozen veggies so they don’t go bad fast but I always have a weeks worth of fresh stuff for snacks. My new found live with cucumbers with sesame seed oil drizzled on them! I hate blueberries but I’ve recently been trying to add frozen ones to my smoothies.

Seasonings/spices can make all the difference. Get Tony Chacheres or a similar Cajun seasoning blend. Always add garlic powder and onion powder, salt and pepper. Crockpot meals, soups, etc go a long way. Check out Pinterest for recipes.

Rice and beans. I used to make this a lot when I was struggling in the 90's. I'd make a big pot of rice season it and I added cheese to it. Then I'd add a can or 2 of kidney beans and let it cook through till it was hot. That lasted at least 2-3 nights.

2 cans of chili with beans, 1 can of diced seasoned tomatoes, drained and 1 can of whole kernal corn, drained. Mix together in a casserole dish. Top it off with a prepared box of jiffy mix. If you don't like cornbread, you can use biscuits instead.
Bake at 360 until cornbread is golden brown.
This is one of the meals I would fix 40+ yrs ago when my husband and I first got married.

Get a can of peas and drain them then add butter heat up. Then put your yellow rice and chicken on a plate and peas on top. These are super cheap meals. They taste great and stretch pretty far.
