If you can’t find the frozen pre
Made ones, they aren’t too hard to make- you need cube steak, salt, pepper, paprika, red pepper, flour, milk, eggs and vegetable oil
Literally just flower, lots of salt and pepper, garlic powder if you have it (more seasoning than you think you need!!!!)
Eggs and the steak.
Dip in flower mix then in egg back to flour. Fry in oil.
The way my grandma taught me: your cut of beef (or chicken, or quail, or back strap, etc) pounded out & put in a zip lock bag with 1 egg, milk, salt, and pepper. Let that sit in the fridge for 30 minutes or so. After 30 minutes take out & coat in seasoned flour (salt, pepper, garlic & onion powder if my grandma is making it) Heat your oil of choice (we do veggie) and fry until golden. You want the oil hot enough that you see the batter bubbling when you put it in (test with a pinch of flour) but not too hot that the batter burns before the meat is cooked. After frying, drain most of the oil & make your gravy in the same pan. Sorry that was a lot lol, I’m passionate about chicken fried steak I guess
cubed steak, flour, egg wash, flour (add salt pepper and cayenne to the flour)
fry in pan with 2 spoonfuls of butter until golden brown on both sides
take out and put on a plate, to make the gravy add 2 tablespoon of flour and 2 cup milk to the pan and whisk often, add black pepper and a small amount of cayenne, season to your tastes
@thobewill med-high heat for a short time! i usually set my stove to 5-6 and fry for about 3 minutes on each side, just until they start looking crispy
