I used to make the spiced or candied pecans in this recipe every year and everyone always looked forward to them. They were definitely a hit. They are so easy to make too, but the nuts can get a bit pricey.
There used to be a recipe for caramel corn on the back of the Better Made brand Corn Pops. It is so good. Because it uses the Corn Pops there are no hulls or hard pieces in there. So yummy and another food gift I used to give out a lot that everyone seemed to really like.
I don't. I found it online in the past, but can't locate it on their website. I usually just follow the recipe printed on the bag. I found some online that I'm guessing are similar.
We have done this the last 15 years. Whipped shortbread cookies are fun and easy to do. We also do wedding cake cookies, but I also substitute mini m&M's for part of them
Peanut clusters. Mix and melt one bag semi sweet chocolate chips and one bag butterscotch chips over lower heat and stir in one can of Spanish peanuts. Spoon onto waxed paper in bite sized clumps. It’s always a crowd pleaser.

Don’t forget sugar and butter costs. I was floored when I bought sugar this week if you have something you garden or a fruit tree you might consider incorporating that. As for cheapest dessert recipe, I have a really good banana bread or pumpkin bread recipe. My step would bake them in tin cans or a mini loaf and have lots to hand out. I love snickerdoodles because they don’t require extra ingredients like chocolate or nuts. I’ll respond to my comment with recipes once I find them in my binder.
@foundsomefunnies I was going to say the same thing. I make cookies every year (about 50-70 dozen). Last year it was so expensive I cut it by at least half
