Hey i’m making a crockpot pork chop meal tonight and I was wanting to make rice to go with it. I’m not sure how i would prepare or season that rice. Generally we don’t have rice often and when we do it’s sweet rice and i’m not sure how well that would go with this. Please give me some rice ideas. I have white rice. TIA
Edited to say unfortunately this post did not get approved until after I had already made the rice. I ended up leaving the rice plain and adding just a little bit of butter to it. The pork chops had gravy with them and we cut the pork chops up and mixed them into our individual bowls that way. Both the pork chops and rice tasted amazing. I’ve posted the pork chop recipe in the comments. Thank you everyone for your help on how to cook the rice.

@gikaru we normally make the rice like normal boiling it and what not then add butter and some sugar to it. I’m not sure exact measurements we just kinda eyeball it normally.

Wash your rice if you want it fluffy. Use 2 cups liquid to 1 cup rice (I suggest chicken stock for more flavor). Stir, and bring to a boil. Do NOT stir again til after cooking. Reduce to simmer, cover, and let cook like 20 mins til most liquid is absorbed. Turn off heat and let sit an additional 5 mins to finish absorbing last of liquid. Fluff/ stir gently. Season how you're seasoning pork.

Leaving the rice plain is probably just fine if theres gravy/sauce from the chops. A can of rotel and some chili powder and lime juice makes a passable tex mex. Taijin too, if you have it

I make my rice with chicken broth instead of water and it’s amazing! You can use beef broth as well and just butter and some salt and pepper

Chicken broth to cook in, can add cilantro and lime, chipotle seasoning, just a little bit of salt if you have gravy from the chops. Little bit of milk and shredded cheese for a cheesy rice. Can really add whatever flavor you like to rice. It's a great try and test side that absorbs flavor.

You don't have to season the rice but if you want to you can cook it in flavored stock or add soup base or better than bullion.. I usually do a simple veggie soup base so I can use the leftovers for other meals

I know now how to make the most delicious rice 🍚 because of trial and error for months...I finally got it!!
I would be glad to give you my fluffy rice secret ...
I have used different rice cookers, some work and some don't...
The rice Cooker that works the best is a veggie steamer with a rice tray... but...my favorite 😍 way to make regular white rice 🍚... is.....
In a medium pan, put 2 cups white rice and just enough water to cover the rice...cook on medium heat until it starts to boil...boil for 5 minutes, add more hot water, just enough to cover the rice...again...boil for 5 minutes... add more hot water just enough to cover the rice for the third time and cook until all liquid is JUST ABOUT absorbed. Fluff rice with a fork.
DO NOT OVER COOK!! ALWAYS WATCH CAREFULLY!!
I serve the white rice either with scallions or green onion, chives or with butter, salt and black pepper
I hope this helps... I always make extra white rice to cook in a skillet with butter and scrambled eggs the next day.
Good luck!
