How to Cook a Tender Pot Roast: Tips and Recipes for a 3lb Chuck Roast Using Slow Cooker, Pressure Cooker, or Oven

I use an oven 350* for approximately 5 hours depending on the size. Make sure it's covered & don't let the juice get too low. I season with salt, pepper, garlic, add 1 envelope of Lipton's Onion Soup Mix, add water almost as much as the height of the roast since during cooking, it evaporates. You'll have enough juices to make a nice brown gravy. Good luck !

chuck roasts are the best, put beef broth in your pan with the roast and your seasonings and veggies your gonna cook with the roast, cover with aluminum foil over the top, cook on 350 degrees until it falls apart and believe me it will. Just put enough of the beef broth in the bottom of your pan to just cover the bottom @orangelight and for seasonings I use garlic and onion powder, rosemary, and i put a rub all over my roast, a steak rub, its delicious along with the garlic, onion and rosemary seasoning

Pierce roast with knife or fork douse with Worcestershire one can onion soup, one brown gravy packet, one ranch packet, one Italian dressing packet, stick of butter on top put on low in crock pot 8-10 hours

I usually cook mine in the crock pot ( about 4 or 5 hours ). Onions , carrots , potatoes, celery and lipton onion soup mix. Also couple beef Boulton cubes or half can of beef broth. Comes out really nice and tender. ( always get Angus beef roast ) others can be chewy or tough.
Also have cooked with same ingredients in oven in a covered pan ....( ALSO GOOD )

Crockpot I’ve been using a pkg. of beefy onion dry soup mix, about a teaspoon of dry ginger, and a couple cups of beef broth. Cut up half onion some carrots and a few potatoes. I also like to add a little red wine but you don’t have to. I cook it on high for about 5 hours then lows for an hour or so. Super tender.😋
