How to Cook a Tender Pot Roast: Tips and Recipes for a 3lb Chuck Roast Using Slow Cooker, Pressure Cooker, or Oven

I just put mine in the slow cooker salt and pepper it add a little water and cook on low for 6-7 hours. Always tender

I put my roast in crockpot from frozen state on low for 12 hours...I add a packet onion soup mix and about 1 inch water...always mouth watering tender

If you find that it’s always tough. I swear if you put a banana in the pot with the peel don’t overcook it then carefully take out the banana it’ll be super tender and juicy trust me

I made one in a roaster tonight that was 3.5 lbs, was sitting in a red wine gravy and then foiled over it really good to keep the heat in. I also seared it initially. Roasted for 3 hours at 350. Came out tender and tasty..I put veggies with it halfway through.

Definitely sear it first to lock in moisture. And I think a chuck roast is the best cut for a pot roast.

Pressure cooker!!!! OOOOOOORRRRRR - the “Method X” roast by Chef John! I used a cheap cut of meat - eye round and it came out delish! Lol. I was even happier when I did another eye round (chuck is good too) in the pressure cooker. Look up Instantpot recipes for best times and suggestions. I plan on getting another eye round or bottom round soon just to use my pressure cooker. Thinly slice the roast the next day for roast beef sandwiches.
