How to Cook a Tender Pot Roast: Tips and Recipes for a 3lb Chuck Roast Using Slow Cooker, Pressure Cooker, or Oven

Put it on the stove in a pot just like you would your vegetables, add salt, pepper, garlic salt, sun jus gravy mix,dry ranch seasoning ,banana pepper rings and a little of the juice. You can add your carrots and potatoes. Cook on medium heat for about 4 hours and you will thank me later. My oven went out in 1989 and I was determined to cook that roast and I have been fixing that way every since.

We season ours. I pour about 8-12 ounces of coke (regular only coke don’t substitute; my son gets the rest of the 2 liter) placed in Dutch oven and baked at 200 for 12 hours (overnight) our oven shuts off at 12 hours. Perfect every time and I use the drippings to make gravy

Sear it first on both sides. Make pan really hot and add butter. 3 minutes each side. It will lock in moisture. Then add to crock pot with your usual ingredients.

I cook mine in the oven with Lipton onion soup mix and about 1 1/2 c water. Bake at 300 - 325 degrees for about 4 hrs comes out perfect every time.

Throw into crockpot at 7am with box of broth, onion soup packet, forget about it - and add carrots and potatoes around 2/3 and by dinner it will be perfect

Crock pot / one package Lipton onion soup mix one package of ranch and a stick of butter on low for 8 hours so yummy

always a crockpot for me. on low with 2 packs of beef gravy. i typically cook mine for around 8 hours and it’s always super tender and falls apart.

If it's coming out tough you're not cooking that long enough. Sometimes you literally have to cook roast all day long. Especially if it's not a tender cut meat. I always cook mine in the crock pot.
