Seeking the Ultimate Mashed Potatoes Recipe for Thanksgiving – Share Your Best!

Cut up your potatoes, boil in chicken broth, with a little black pepper. When soft, drain, leaving a little broth in your pot. Add enough REAL BUTTER, whipping cream, to get the consistency you like. I use a hand mixer to ‘mash’ mine, leaving a little chunky. Then, add salt and pepper, to taste.

Peel potatoes.
Boil 20 minutes until fork tender.
Remove from water.
Use a potato masher.
Add milk, butter, salt, pepper and a big spoonful mayo.
Mash until smooth.

@mehteh I found this to work for starchy potatoes. After I drain the potatoes I put back in pot set on burner and let the steam evaporate the rest of the water. Then proceed to mash. Nice and fluffy.

Boil until done and drain. Add butter, salt and pepper and some whole milk. Beat until creamy. Do not add to much milk or they will be to thin.
