Looking for Easy, Cheap, and Delicious Recipes for College Students

So I know as a mom of a daughter who is in college as a senior. I would never to say to defy the rules, however our kids don’t deserve to starve and or go without. So my daughter and her room mate have both gotten one of these to be able to have more options for food as you can use the waffle maker for all sort of different things for meals. So the school gives the students a 24hr notice of when they do inspections of there rooms so when they get those notices they then put these two items either in there car and or in a tote and or some where they can’t look by law and or have probable cause to look. So please Heed my warning I am just giving other options and hopefully another avenue to have more meal options. Please don’t give it as an idea if your against breaking rules if it should be a rule to them that they can’t come back from or will make them loose their scholarships and or if they are in sports and have a chance of being kicked from their sports. I’ve taught my daughter to be a semi rebel however with classy standards to be able to make it through school and being able to eat. Also just another thing so most parents of college kids know and or understand the cafeteria isn’t always open during the hours that the kids in college need it to be unfortunately and or in sports and or who have late classes. So it’s not always an option for some as well as it’s closed a couple times a year during the holidays.

2 recipes for you 🙂
Piggies in a blanket
Hot Dogs
Block of sharp Cheddar Cheese
Crescent rolls
Preheat oven according to temperature on crescent rolls package.
Cut slices off cheese block the short side (small rectangles)
Slice the hot dogs the long way but not all the way (sliced open but not cut apart).
Put 2 pieces of cheese in dog and wrap them both in 1 triangle piece.
Repeat until all the dogs and crescents are used.
Bake for how long the crescent roll package says.
Tortilla dogs
Hot dogs

Tortillas (small ones like for tacos)
Same process as above but you are wrapping them with tortillas and securing them with toothpicks.

Spaghetti, crescent dogs (hot dogs in crescent rolls), casseroles, breakfast casseroles.
Have to be creative a lot 😅

Quesadillas are big ones - cook frozen chicken strips in the oven/microwave, cut them up add cheese into a tortilla wrap and cook for 4-5 min, keep an eye on it!

Another big thing was bake chicken and add different seasoning to each breasts (Italian, taco, teriyaki) and individual rice packets/bowls. Basic “meal prepping” for the week with different tastes so don’t get burned out

Racis, pig in a blanket, they have some wraps close to corn dogs now, quick easy is slice potatoes in skillet a slab of ham on top cook kinda slow, juice drips on potatoes. Or potato chunks , cut up cabbage, & kielbasa pieces on top just about 1/2 -1 inch of water in soup kettle cook slow until potatoes are done(usually all will be done

Tater Tot Casserole
In a casserole dish 9x13 layer:
1) raw ground beef - 1 to 2 pounds depending on preference.
2) can of cream of mushroom or chicken soup.
3) 2 cans of french cut green beans or corn.
4) Salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder to taste (a good spinkle of each is a good amount to start), can always add more afterwards.
5) Tater tots.
Cook for 60 min at 350°
Could also add shredded cheese on top of tots.
Serve with garlic bread, or loaf of French or Italian bread.
Good luck and lots of hugs!

Mix the above and cook until.sauce thickens maybe 30 minutes.
Serve over:
Cooked rice or linguine is good sometimes or Ramen works too even had in lettuce wraps

Frozen noodles , lots of chicken or beef broth follow directions 20 minutes. Can add meat if you want. Good and filling

Canned biscuits individually rolled out a little.
Pepperoni or meat of choice
Shredded mozzarella
Marinara or spaghetti sauce
Make pizza pockets or individual pizzas
Bake according to biscuit directions

Knor pasta sides ( get the family size) Alfredo packets
Cook according to package instructions.
Rotisserie chicken shred up some ( use the rest for other meals) add chicken to the Alfredo
We like to add spinach and mushrooms also .

Chicken and rice
2 boneless Skinless chicken breasts
White rice
2 cane Cream of mushroom or chicken soup - which ever they like better
Milk.
This is for a 8x8 baking dish… adjust more ingredients for a bigger baking dish
Mix 1 can of soup and 3/4 of a can of milk together and pour into the bottom of the pan. Cover the top of that soup with the rice, not to thick. Then place the chicken on top of that. Mix the 2nd can of soup and another 3/4 can of milk. Mix up well and pour over the chicken and rice. Bake at 350° for 60 minutes or until chicken is done.
I sometimes add a tad more milk so the rice isn’t to dry.

Lazy girl wraps:
Shredded rotisserie chicken (I can usually get a small container near the prepared foods, near the rotisserie chickens for about $5)
Lettuce
Shredded mozzarella
Roasted red peppers (large jar)
Balsamic dressing)
All of these ingredients can easily make 4-5 wraps!
You can also make breakfast wraps with eggs, crumbled bacon (in bags by the salad dressings) and shredded cheese!
