Budget-Friendly Meal Ideas for 2 Adults & 1 Toddler: Quick, Easy Recipes with Leftovers

I cook whole chicken (bake, grill or stew) serve with potatoes I peel, cut in bite sized pieces and simmer till tender then drain and put lots of butter and parsley on
And salt to taste, with a veggie. The left overs I dice and mix with diced apple, graded cut in half, diced celery, tops of a couple of green onions then mix with mayo and season lightly with salt pepper and put a scoop in center of butter lettuce instead of bread.

Burger veggie soup . Brown season a pound burger chop carrots onion potatoes add corn add water and soup stock thicken when cooked serve with biscuits . //// anything with pasta & rice can always add more pasta and rice to stretch.

Sometimes me and my family do like quick cheap spaghetti.
- pancakes
- chicken wraps (we normally just cook chicken tenders and put it on a tortilla and add sauces and eat!)
- pizzas

One of the main ways I cut down on our family grocery bill is make sure you are shopping the sales plan your meals around what is on sale!! Life saver

Buy on sale items. Download digital coupons as well if your grocery store offers those on their website or app.

definitely shop at aldi. they have a lot of fresh produces for good pricing. meat is also a good price there (where i am). something my boyfriend & i like is corned beef & white rice. it’s just corned beef & ketchup, seasoned however you like it. if you want to spice it up, we add potatoes or fries & corn. we love to make sliders. rolls, sandwich meat & cheese. simple, cheap & feeds well. chicken bowls; rice, chicken, fresh veggies to your likings. another thing we like to cook is rice porridge. it’s just rice & white into a pot, cook for 30-40 mins. 1 cup of water to 10 cups of water (a little ginger & garlic, you can buy it one time & it’ll last you a while, you can even freeze it to reduce waste), can feed 4-6 people. Season however you like. Super affordable, super easy & a great comfort food. really good for toddlers for their immune system as well.

A good way to cut down on grocery bill is to shop and make a meal plan is buy shopping the weekly add of your local grocery store(s). In my area (Maryland) when any meant goes on sale I buy multiple packs take them home and vacuum seal/freeze them. So you have to know what the best prices in your area are. Sams/Costco are also good for the large packs of meat or a huge pork loin and then you cut them down to pork chops...getting as many as possibly ouf of the one loin you got for $2-3 a pound. The same goes for everything you buy....fruit-we only buy what is on sale in season. Exampes: When chicken breast in the value pack is on sale for $1.99-2.49.........So that in the following few weeks if we want chicken and it's $4-6 a pound at the store I just get it out of the freezer. One week grapes are on sale for 99C-$1.49 pound that one of the fruits we have that week. When there not on sale we buy them. It sounds difficult but after a few weeks/months of shopping like this it just makes life so much easier.
