Meal Ideas for Child with Allergies to Wheat, Milk, Eggs, Nuts, Soy, and Peanuts

Just substitute (we have those allergies too)
Butter = nutalex
Eggs = oil (in cakes anyway)
Wheat= rice flour or rice or gf pasta
Generally anything labelled vegan is also safe

When we were first learning to cook with my son’s allergies the best advice I received was keep it simple . As in protein, fruit , veg , and simple carbs they can have . As in no fancy sauces or casserole type meals. Most kids love fruit, so any fresh fruit served just how it comes… same for veggies . Keep it simple for now until you’ve all had time to learn more about it and gather recipes you all enjoy.

@aimfortruth this is great advice thank you. She has always been a picky eater and hasn't had the most nutritious foods but now is required to eat them. It's been a hard switch for her and mom because takeout and fast foods have been their go to and now they are having to do healthy instead.

Man so hard on a little one glad they found out now though. Also don't forget don't use butter or mayo, dressings and things like this either without carefully checking labels.
I would make rice with some kind of meat and veggies. You can also do mashed potatoes with or without gravy, chicken and some baked beans.

Tacos made with corn tortillas , homemade taco seasoning made with garlic powder, chili powder, cumin and salt. Use avacado in place of the cheese and sour cream for creaminess. Salsa , lettuce, refried beans and rice ??

Rice is a great filler! Veggies with every meal! Double check all sauces, seasonings, and marinades for meat - lots of which contain wheat!!!
Tacos are fun - use corn tortillas! Be careful of the taco seasoning you use though!
Dairy free oatmeal is a great breakfast!
Gluten free chicken nuggets are SUPER easy to make and are actually delicious. We do the chicken, onion, potato method! (You can look up recipes/videos!)
Gluten/wheat free pasta is easy to find and to make!
Lots of Asian foods are already gluten free - anything with rice noodles! Just make sure to skip on the soy sauce or use gluten free soy sauce (wheat)
Fried rice! Easy and delicious- skip on the eggs!
It’s easy to bake gluten and dairy and egg free. 1 to 1 gluten free flour, and dairy alternative milk, and ground flax seed for eggs!

We went through this with a grandson. Substituted geletin or applesauce for eggs. oat flour for wheat. and soy milk or another substitute for milk. We made it work

Ask the parent/caregiver. I’m sure they were given some training/recipes. If you don’t want her to feel different-just all eat what she can, even if it this time has to be premade. Might have to go the frozen route for this weekend….or premade.

@isserus they weren't told anything thing except can't have these any longer. No training nothing. Told to read labels and go to internet 🤦‍♀️ she was already a picky eater and with this it's been a real struggle to get anything that wasn't weird texture or good tasting. There is not an Aldi or whole foods within 2 hrs.

Enjoy life products are free of all of these. Anything “vegan” will be dairy free and egg free. Dum dum lollipops are allergy free.

My daughter had the exact same allergies. We did a lot of chicken breast- baked or grilled with various seasonings, sauces, marinades, etc. along with veggies. There are also quite a few dairy-free options available now. You can cook with milk alternatives, and Daiya makes a pretty good cheese alternative that melts like regular cheese. She likes that brand better than others, but everyone has their own taste.

Remember to check labels. Soya sauce, most contain gluten some gluten free foods may have other ingredients that she may not eat. Even plain yogurt may contain small amounts of other ingredient.
