Need Budget-Friendly Meal Ideas: Tired of Chuck Steaks & Pasta - Looking for Cheap, Nutritious Recipes!

Well i noticed no one actually makes pork or chicken fried rice, its actually quite easy n its a great meal. Flavor pork or chicken to liking cooked and chopped up, make rice ahead of time - i flavor my rice with butter and chicken bullion, great big fry pan, veggie oil in pan fry the rice untill turning golden, then add meat fry a bit more , add butter if you like for flavor, i add canned veggies either mixed or not, mix that up, add a bit more veggie oil in middle make a hole and add like 5 or 6 eggs and cook n mix until all the egg is cooked n mixed good with the rest in pan. Then its done!!! I like to flavor with adobo seasoning (yellow top) and garlic salt and pepper, ill add seasonings when meat n rice are frying. It makes alot and its got the protein n veggie!

I always cook a big batch of rice and use the steamer basket to steam carrots. Then make either honey chicken, bbq chicken, curry chicken(with bell peppers and cucumber) or will put a big roast(beef or pork or corned beef) in the crockpot all day then shred it up and make rice bowls. A lot of times I’ll add corn/raw crunchy veggies too.

Mince, handful of frozen veges and a beef risotto packet.
Cook mince and veges together in butter or oil. In a separate pan cook your risotto, follow instructions on packet. Once everything is cooked add it altogether. Easy simple cheap meal. Can have with mashed potatoes if you like.

I like casseroles and crockpot dishes
Chicken thighs, red potatoes quartered and carrots packed into a crockpot with a little water. Maybe a buillion cube. Garlic powder sliced onion. Cook on low for a few hours until your meat is fork tender. I cook for a big family daily. You just have to learn some combos you like. Flavors you appreciate!

Egg roll in a bowl. I find it easier to use a precut coleslaw tri color bag without the dressing.
Sauté the cabbage, onion, and garlic, add soy sauce and your choice of meat chicken or beef.

Try to search early in day at markets. Walmart usually has yellow tags early in morning and I got 2 lbs of ground pork for 2 dollars and change a pack at one market. I picked up 4 packs just to put in freezer . I also bought 10 lbs of chicken legs for 6 bucks can do whatever fry / bake or like today I made curry chicken with rice and salad. I also found porkchops 6 some had 7 in pack for 4 bucks and under. I have no choice but to stock up on cheap meat so I do alot of stews diff styles and lately I've been on meatloaf thing which makes good sandwhiches with leftovers.lol

Diced up chicken, sliced peppers and onion in a fry pan, add a packet of fajita seasoning from the grocery store, put in a wrap with salsa and shredded cheese

Haluski (not sure how to spell it)
1 kielbasa cut in thin disks
1 head of cabbage cut in small pieces
Egg noodles
2 pieces of bacon
1 onion
Fry the bacon and tear it up small. Fry the cabbage, onion & kielbasa. Cook egg noodles, drain and add to cabbage & meat (do NOT drain any of the bacon grease). Stir together with salt & pepper to taste. So yummy!

Spaghetti casserole
1lb ground beef
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 onion
2 cans V8
1lb Italian sausage
Italian seasoning
Garlic
Spaghetti
Cheddar cheese
Pepperoni
Cook the ground beef with onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper & Italian seasoning. Drain grease and add V8 & petite diced tomatoes (drained). Simmer.
In a separate pan fry Italian sausage.
In a 13x9 dish layer spaghetti noodles, sauce, Italian sausage, pepperoni & cheese. Do layers until pan is full. Top with cheddar cheese and bake. Cut like lasagna (it won’t hold together but makes it easier to get an even mix of toppings in each serving).
We make this after having spaghetti to use up the leftovers and give it a new twist.

Hot legs
Bread chicken legs with flour, seasoning salt, pepper and fry in skillet. (I like to dip mine in flour, egg, then flour again)
Once they are done drying roll them in franks Buffalo wing sauce and bake in the oven to set the sauce.
It’s meaty chicken wings but cheaper because chicken legs are cheap in big family packs!!
